Vocals/Guitar/Harmonica, Rob Hargreaves: Vocals/Bass and Doug Sutherland:
Vocals/Percussion – this is a highly enjoyable band that performs their own
music and a few covers. Their style of music I would suggest is contemporary roots
orientated and they perform it well. Be it songs that have your hands and feet
moving or just taking in the level of musicianship that they perform at – the band
is very much worth a night out to just sit back and enjoy. I’ve known Doug for
a number of years and he is a great character guy, but I just met Andy and Rob
that night for the first time and it seemed that we had known each other for
years as they were very friendly and eager to shake hands and chat. This is a
great group of guys to hang with and enjoy their music while sipping your favorite
beverage so if the chance arises and you can catch them live – jump on it.

Kirk w/Richard J. Miron
Crystal
Kirk w/Richard J. Miron were the opening act this night and I’ve always loved
Crystal’s voice. Crystal is a local songwriter/artist while Richard is a local
musician who has played with many artists through the years and is quite
competent on multiple instruments.
Crystal
is a very humble and down to earth Lady who has a voice that can serenade you,
or rock you back in your chair when she unleashes with all the power that she
can generate. She treated the crowd to a setlist of her own material and her
strength as a songwriter is in a league of its own. That humble Lady dissipates
when she hits the stage as her real environment is playing live to an audience.
Once
onstage with a guitar in her hands and a mic in front of her, she takes control
and delivers a live performance that will keep you riveted in your seat – and when
she opens up with that voice it will send a tingle down your spine with the
power she can summon from such a small frame. On this night with Richard accompanying
her she was able to concentrate on singing while he handled the lions share of
the guitar work. Richard is a very competent bassist in his own right, but his
guitar leads on an acoustic were equally impressive and hugely complimentary to
Crystal’s compositions.
This
is a duo that no doubt will be playing more and more of London’s more intimate
venues.
